Stacy Meadows
has studied yoga since 2001. As a latchkey kid, she recalls spending many afternoons watching Lilias! Yoga & You, with Lilias Folan on PBS. Her favorite childhood poses were Tree & Plow. Throughout her life Stacy has remembered & used the relaxation practice she learned while watching Lilias. Influenced by co-workers, she finally found yoga again as an adult after suffering from knee & back injuries associated with running. She is a RYT-200 certified yoga instructor registered with Yoga Alliance and studies regularly with Doug Keller. She has also studied with Betsey Downing, Judith Lasater, Max Strom, Scott Blossom, & David Keil, & completed first & second degree Reiki training with Gilbert Gallego. She is currently completing her Pre-Natal/Post-Natal and 500 hour certification through the Asheville Yoga Center. Stacy teaches yoga classes privately & at East Meets West Yoga Center in Vienna, Virginia.
Why Yoga?
As she began moving through midlife, Stacy became more susceptible to injury and noticed her body did not respond or recover as well as it once had but knew the key to longevity was to remain active. Based on feedback from co-workers with serious yoga practices, she decided Iyengar based Hatha yoga was the way to ensure she stayed injury-free while building flexibility, strength, endurance, and peace of mind. A decade later, Stacy continues her Yoga practice and is excited to share her experiences with others. She is committed to a lifetime of practice and bringing knowledge and exploration of yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and the benefits of yoga to others.
